Soccer Balls, Community Fields, and The Roldan Pizza

On a recent sunny Wednesday, Matt and Michelle Galvin, Pagliacci co-owners and Sounders superfans, loaded a bunch of special pizzas into their car and delivered them to the Seattle Sounders training facility in Renton. This was no ordinary delivery.
“I’ve been a Sounders fan a long, long time,” Matt says. “Walking Pagliacci pizzas onto that field was pretty cool.”
The Wednesday had been years in the making. RAVE Foundation is close to the heart of Sounders owner Adrian Hanauer, an old friend of Matt’s. Matt played college soccer and the two played together afterward in a rec league and have stayed friends ever since. Adrian had been trying to get Pagliacci and RAVE together for years. It culminated in a special pizza — and a special mission.
The pizza is called The Roldan, after Cristian Roldan, the Sounders star midfielder and team captain, recently named to the U.S. men’s national team’s final roster. “It’s a combo we ran as a special and it was one of our most popular seasonals in years,” Matt says. “I hoped it would be a hit with Cristian, too.” With practice over, Cristian arrived and took the first slice. “He loved it,” says Matt.
Then Cristian gathered up a stack of boxes and carried them over to the rest of the team.
“Paul Rothrock came running out of the weight room... He’s a huge Pagliacci fan,” Michelle says. “So is Brian Schmetzer, who also came down to try the pizza. The players were excited and there was a great vibe all around.”
Adrian Hanauer hung back and watched it all unfold.

The Roldan goes on the menu June 11–July 18, and on the slice bar three times a week through the run. It’s the heart of our partnership with RAVE Foundation, the official charity of the Seattle Sounders and Seattle Reign. The arrangement is simple. Order a Roldan, by the slice or the whole pie, and we’ll give a dollar to RAVE, up to our goal of $10,000.

It takes two things to turn a kid into a soccer player. A place to play, and a ball. RAVE builds free public mini-pitches in underserved communities across Washington. More than three dozen of them since 2019, with a goal of 52 by the end of 2026.
But the field is only half of it. Through its One Ball Program, RAVE also puts a soccer ball in the hands of every kid who lives near a pitch. Free, and theirs to keep. That’s where your Roldan goes. Our $10,000 buys 500 of those balls. Because every great player's journey begins with a ball at their feet and a dream in their heart.
Later that same Wednesday, Cristian was asked to head to RAVE’s newest mini-pitch, a few minutes up the road. Someone handed him a ball and asked him to juggle it across the field for the cameras. He did. And at the far end, where he came to a stop, was his signature, already on the field. Nobody had told him. It’s the Cristian Roldan Pitch now.
On June 6, the gates opened and the pitch came to life. Kids, families, and a whole lot of soccer filled the field. We were there with pizza. Now we're focused on getting soccer balls into the hands of the kids who'll play there, and on every RAVE pitch across Washington.

The Roldan: Fueling the Dream
Pineapple caramelizes in the oven and picks up a deeper, almost tangy sweetness. Paired with soppressata — salty, garlicky, and meaty — it becomes a bright counterpunch. Add the heat of jalapeños, mozzarella for that creamy savoriness, and a drizzle of hot honey, and you’ve got a pizza with an irresistible balance of sweet-salty-spicy. If sweet heat is your thing, try The Roldan and support RAVE. That’s a win-win if we’ve ever seen one.
Whole pies on the menu June 11–July 18. We'll feature The Roldan on the slice bar three days a week: Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Want to Chip In?
Ordering a Roldan already sends a dollar to RAVE. To do more, add a “Donate a Soccer Ball” item to any online order. Twenty dollars buys a ball, and it goes straight to RAVE.
Catch a Match
It's a soccer summer, and every Pagliacci with a TV will have the matches on. That's every location but Valley, 85th, and Crossroads. Order a slice or whole pie and pull up a chair.
Lunchtime BOGO Slice
From June 11–30, slices are buy-one-get-one between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at every location except Valley. The promo code is SUMMERSLICE at checkout. Pair it with a long lunch in front of a match.
Let’s join up and cheer on Cristian Roldan and the U.S. national team!
