Some wines feel like they were made for pizza. That’s how we felt after tasting at the Falchini estate in San Gimignano — thanks to a serendipitous connection made years ago. Before long, we were talking about bringing their food-friendly wines to Pagliacci.

Pagliacci’s Falchini wines are the real deal: family-made in the hills just outside San Gimignano, chosen because they pair beautifully with pizza — bright, balanced, and seriously good for the price.

Falchini’s base is an old hilltop estate surrounded by dedicated vineyards in the hills outside San Gimignano, a corner of Tuscany known for vibrant, food-friendly wines. They’re rooted in tradition, but they’ve also embraced modern, precision winemaking for decades: clean fermentations, careful temperature control, and a style built around freshness and clarity. That’s exactly what you want with a well-crafted pizza: lively wines with enough acidity to cut through richness and complement the pizza’s textures and flavors without overshadowing them.

A quick note on logistics: State rules no longer allow restaurants to deliver alcohol, but pickup orders can still include wine. And now through April 13, all bottles are $20, a $4 savings per bottle. For online and app orders, use code VINO26. The offer is valid for up to 5 bottles per order.

Our wines:

Falchini Chianti: A warm, generous red wine crafted mainly from heritage Sangiovese. Subtle spice, soft, round flavors, and silky tannins balance nicely with the savory richness of pizza.

Falchini Vernaccia di San Gimignano: A crisp, vibrant white wine with notes of green apple and delicate white flowers. Underlying mineral richness makes it refreshingly versatile, pairing beautifully with our pizzas.

Falchini Castel Selva Rosato: Hand-harvested Sangiovese from San Gimignano. Bright and lively, with red-berry fruit, citrus lift, and a clean, chalky minerality from the area’s ancient seabed soils. Elegant and refreshing.
