In early April, we started giving away some of our favorite products from local companies to bring some unexpected joy to our customers and support local businesses hit hard by the coronavirus. The reception has been so great that the giveaways have taken on a life of their own.
Next up, Jonboy Caramels. This Saturday (June 27), we are thrilled to give away a box of Jonboy Caramels with every whole pie order while supplies last.
These homegrown sweets started as a side gig for close friends Jonathan Sue and Jason Alm in 2008. Working on a four-burner stove in a small Ballard room, the two friends developed recipes for their unforgettable small batch caramels. They worked with the finest Northwest and organic ingredients available. They knew they were onto something, but few others did. Enter the Ballard Farmers Market, which offered them a stand in 2009. Word spread quickly, and the hobby became a career.
Fast forward a decade and change and Jonboy Caramels are available in several flavors throughout the Pacific Northwest, can be found at farmers' markets throughout the city, Whole Foods, PCC, and countless smaller stores throughout the region.
Try them and you’ll see why!
PS We also hear their Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce is life changing.
