Be Great Bellevue: Because It Takes a Village

What do Usher, Shaun White, Bill Clinton and Kerry Washington have in common? Aside from their celeb status, these four - along with many more famous faces - grew up with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).

“At a young age, I found a great influence in being in places like the Boys & Girls Club,” Usher told SUCCESS Magazine. “I think that’s where my mentoring—the vision of mentoring started—having elders mentor my development.”

With more than 4,000 clubs nationwide, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America serve millions of kids through community outreach and membership programs like summer camps and after-school activities. When working parents can’t be there for their children between the last school bell and dinnertime, BGCA helps fill in the gaps. When inner-city youth need a safe alternative to wandering the streets, BGCA is there for support. From providing releif for overwhelmed parents to fostering a nurturing environment for kids, BGCA tirelessly aims to bolster the community. So, when we heard the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue were building a new clubhouse, we jumped at the chance to help.

Giving back is as easy as p̶i̶e̶ pizza this week! Here's where you come in:

  • Through Sunday, August 17, grab a slice of cheese pizza from our Bellevue Square or Old Bellevue locations and we'll donate 50 cents to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue for a new clubhouse.

  • On Friday, August 15, Kirkland Boys & Girls Club members are invited to a Kids Day celebration at the clubhouse, complete with a pizza party and dough tossing with our Bridle Trails crew.

  • On Saturday, August 16, we're teaming up with Taste of Main. Purchase a passport and savor your way through Old Bellevue's restaurants, including a free slice at our Old Bellevue location. Proceeds from this event benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue.
