When we opened our second location on Broadway on January 5, 1983, the storefront was set back from the sidewalk with a walk-up window. We pictured people strolling down Broadway, casually stopping at the window for a slice. When the logistics of the window didn't meet the service standards we aspired to, we boarded it up. Since then the restaurant has seen some changes. In the 80s, it was both a pizzeria and trattoria, serving handmade pasta often found drying over the kitchen. Once again the service standards did not meet our aspirations, so we separated the two food concepts and eventually closed the trattoria. However, the pizzeria continues to please patrons on Capitol Hill. In the summertime, the front of the restaurant opens up, so diners can enjoy outdoor seating.
