 A Little History:
The corner of Queen Anne and Mercer became the site for the third Pagliacci Pizzeria on June 20, 1988. It just "felt" like a great location for Pagliacci and that feeling proved to be true.
The site was the original location of Van de Kamp Dutch Bakery which use to be the area landmark before the Seattle Center dwarfed the huge windmill towering over the bakery. The simple building we now occupy on the prominent corner allows our pizza to be its own advertisement.
Our delivery service was introduced at the Queen Anne Pizzeria. The service proved to be so popular we had to build a separate kitchen at Valley and Aurora just for delivery.
With Seattle Center as a hub for theatre, ballet, opera, concerts and sporting events, the customer mix at Queen Anne is the most unique. Formal wear and flannel are often found in the dining area at the same time.
We finally finished a year and a half long remodel project. The first phase was completed in the summer of 2006 and took place behind the scenes, which mostly affected the back of the house with some minor disruption to part of the dining room. Phase two involved a kitchen remodel and required us to close the pizzeria for a week and a half in November 2006. During this phase we enlarged our salad station, moved our soda fountain and added a gelato freezer. The final phase was completed in November 2007 and proved to be the most extensive part of our remodel. For this final phase, we put in additional windows on the Mercer Street side of the building, lifted the ceiling, remodeled the dining room and upgraded the store front and signage.
